Barbecue Chicken Flatbread
A savory, garlic-forward flatbread topped with smoky BBQsauce and melted mozzarella cheese. This hearty flatbread makes an easypizza-style meal with bold flavor and a soft, satisfying bite.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Protein Flour Co. flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt
- 1 tbsp olive or avocado oil
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp BBQ sauce 1 tbsp per flatbread
- 8 oz Barbecue pulled chicken Recommendation: (1/2 package Jack Daniel's pulled chicken)
- 2/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese 1/3 cup per flatbread
- 2 tbsp Red onion 1 tbsp per flatbread
- 1-2 tbsp Cilantro 1/2-1 tablespoon per flatbread
Instructions
- Mix flour, baking powder, garlic salt, oil, and water until a dough forms.
- Let dough rest for 10 minutes to hydrate.
- Divide dough into two equal portions and shape into flatbreads about 1/2 inch thick.
- Heat a lightly buttered skillet over medium heat.
- Cook flatbreads on both sides until golden brown.
- Top each flatbread with BBQ sauce, BBQ chicken, red onion, and mozzarella.
- Bake at 350°F for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
- Top with Cilantro and serve
Notes
Yields 2 hearty flatbreads. Add herbs or red pepper flakes if desired.
